XNote Stopwatch

An appointment can be missed if you decide that there is still time to do something on the computer, like watching a movie or anything else that makes time fly. XNote Stopwatch can save you from this embarrassing situation. It may look like a standard clock tool, but it has some advanced features you may find useful.

The size of the download is well under one Mb, so the task shouldn't be too hard to accomplish even on a slower Internet connection. Installing it to your computer involves going through a standard wizard with no additional settings to be made.

The interface is a simple looking, digital clock. You can set it to display the time, use it as a stopwatch or set it as a countdown timer. Beneath the time display on the small window, you will find a few buttons for start/stop, snap and reset. The start/stop and reset buttons are useful when using the stopwatch or the timer for obvious reasons and the snap can be used for all of the tools. It captures the displayed time, copy it to the clip board and it can later be imported in MS Excel.

Selecting one of its features is done by clicking the More button from the main interface and clicking on one of the modes from the menu that will drop. Switching to the timer feature will bring up an options window where you can set the countdown time in hours, minutes, seconds and decimals. Besides that, XNote Stopwatch can be set to perform a certain action when time runs out. This includes making the PC speaker beep, playing an audio file, selected by the user, launching another file, such as AVI or EXE and simpler things, like making the time display a blink, closing XNote Stopwatch or simply restarting the timer. If you'd like something more complex, you can find a panel for external control, also in the More menu. From here you can select a port, in which you've plugged in a device, and select an "on to off" or "off to on" action.
